What each price field means, how bidding differs from buy-now, and the settings that stop a filter from buying nothing — or from overpaying.
Buy now or bidding
Buy now takes cards listed at or under your maximum instantly. It is simple and fast, and it is what most sniping filters should use.
Bidding places bids on auctions ending soon, up to your maximum bid. It wins cards cheaper, but the card is yours only when the auction ends, so profit arrives slower and some bids lose.
The three numbers that matter
- Max buy price — the ceiling. Set it from what the card actually sells for, not from what you hope.
- Sell price — where ABFut lists the card. EA takes 5%, so a card bought at 4,700 and listed at 5,170 leaves about 212 coins.
- Purchase limit — how many copies this filter may buy. It protects you from buying twenty of something you cannot sell.
Why a filter buys nothing
- Your ceiling is below the market. Open the player's price chart and compare with the lowest BIN.
- Too specific. A filter with position, league, nation and chemistry style all set may match almost nothing.
- Searching too slowly. Popular cards at a good price are gone in seconds; the scan interval matters more than the ceiling.
- The market moved. After a promo drops, fodder prices can change within an hour.
Auto-sell, and cards that match no filter
Cards the autobuyer buys are listed again automatically. If a card in your club matches none of your filters — a pack pull, a returned card — ABFut prices it from the live market instead: it searches the same card, finds the cheapest listing on sale, and lists yours at that price. It refuses to list far below what you paid for it in the last 24 hours, so one bad search cannot dump a 1.6M card for 200 coins.
Sensible starting settings
- One or two filters, not fifteen. You cannot tell which one is losing money otherwise.
- Purchase limit 5 while you are testing the numbers.
- Sessions of 20–30 minutes, then read the log.
- Keep enough coins free that a filter can actually buy — a filter with a 10k ceiling and 3k coins in the club buys nothing.
Questions people ask
Why is my ABFut filter not buying anything?
Usually the maximum price is below the current market, the filter is too specific, or the scan runs too slowly for a popular card. Open the player's price chart, compare it with your ceiling, remove one criterion at a time, and check the Logs screen — it records the reason for every search that bought nothing.
What price should I set to make a profit?
Work backwards from the sale. EA takes 5% of the sale price, so your buy price must be below sell price minus that tax minus the margin you want. ABFut shows the estimated profit after tax while you type the two numbers.
Can the autobuyer get my EA account banned?
EA's rules do not allow automated tools for the transfer market, so there is always a risk. ABFut cannot remove it. Keep sessions short and human-sized, avoid running all day, and never share your account. Treat any tool that promises a risk-free autobuyer as dishonest.
What happens to a card that matches none of my filters?
ABFut prices it from the live market before listing it: it searches for that exact card and version, finds the cheapest one currently on sale, and lists yours there. If the price it finds is less than half of what you paid within the last 24 hours, it refuses to list and warns you instead.
